About the Nipigon River Bridge Walk

Take a stroll along the Nipigon River Bridge Walk for a unique perspective of one of the area’s most striking landmarks. This paved, accessible walkway begins at the Bridgeview Lookout Tower, and goes under and up onto the bridge, via a stairway or accessible ramp. As you cross the river, get up-close views of Ontario’s first cable-stayed bridge. Interpretive panels along the way provide information on the bridge’s engineering, and insights on local history, making the walk both scenic and educational.

The walkway is suitable for visitors of all ages and abilities, providing a safe and accessible route for a leisurely stroll or a moment to pause and take in the river views. At various points, you can stop to enjoy the wildlife (blue herons and bald eagles are often seen soaring near the walkway) or simply appreciate the architectural detail of the bridge from different angles.

Whether you’re a local or visiting Nipigon for the first time, the Bridge Walk is a great way to experience the riverfront, enjoy the outdoors, and gain a deeper appreciation for the town’s iconic bridge.
